PageRank is an algorithm used by Google Search to rank websites in their search engine results. PageRank; named after Larry Page, one of the founders of Google, is a way of measuring the importance of website pages. Nobody knows exactly how Google’s algorithm ranks web pages, as it is constantly changing and improving. Each year, Google changes its search algorithm around 500 to 600 times; as a result – what works today might not work tomorrow. Google is concerned about webmasters who try to “play the system”, and thereby reduce the quality and relevance of Google search results.
Anchor Text Links and Bad Links
The anchor text (link label, link text, or link title) is the visible, clickable text in a hyperlink. The words contained in the anchor text can determine the ranking that the page will receive by search engines. Anchor text links still correlate with positive rankings, but we highly recommend removing all spam or low-quality links from your website.
